In 2012 I attended Dr. Pollack’s presentation on Interfacial Fluid at the International Fascia Research Congress in Vancouver, BC. As he eloquently and nonchalantly outlined the unique characteristics of EZ water, he effectively delivered the revelation that changed my life. Surely most, if not all, the water in a human body is near an interface! Could all biological fluids be forms of structured water with special characteristics in and of themselves? Could these characteristics explain the unique properties of living systems? Pioneers in Osteopathy often described the intelligent nature of fluids in the human body. Was it possible they were intuitively contacting this newly described phase of structured interfacial water? These questions laid the foundation of my exploration into structured water in living systems.
This lecture presented the concepts of the Birth Spiral and Anterior Chain Development.
Throughout my career I have struggled to correlate the biology, physiology and anatomy we learned in school with my clinical experience palpating clients. The anatomy in our textbooks looks so clear cut, segmented and compartmentalized into distinct systems. These images do not translate into my felt experience of interacting with a living system. When I put my hands on someone, it’s like I have been invited into an inner world bursting with continuity, rhythm and flow. Like the essence of every cell is alive and breathing, and in constant interaction with its surroundings without barriers or restraints. For me, the new biology of the Quantum Body not only validates my clinical experience but has opened a whole new world of possibilities for health.
Dr. R. Paul Lee, an American trained Osteopathic Physician, was an enthusiastic supporter of my thesis. From the nuances of our passionate interview exploring William G. Sutherland’s concept of Fluid Intelligence emerged the foundation for his new course on Exploring the Tide. During his inaugural presentation of the course at Osteopathy’s Promise for Children in San Diego, Dr. Lee requested I introduce the course by doing a short presentation on my thesis. My main question was – Are Dr. Sutherland’s concepts in Cranial Osteopathy validated by emerging scientific theories?
